3-Day Online Class Experience

Past | Present | Future

January 8-10, 2019

Clase #1: PASADO (past)

In our first one-hour class, we use the past tense to talk about 2018, with a special focus on las buenas memorias from last year. Our brains will naturally focus on the negative and negative memories have a bigger impact on our emotions. So, as we leave 2018 behind, this positive focus will help make sure we combat some of those natural tendencies and leave us feeling good as we start the New Year and go into our first Spanish class!

Clase #2: PRESENTE

For our second class, we use the present tense to talk about things that are true in our lives right now, things that we do often or regularly, and things that are currently in progress. The present tense is often the starting point for second-language learners, but it’s not necessarily what we use most often! For this reason, our 3-day class actually starts with the past. We can reach fluency much faster in a second language by focusing on high-frequency vocabulary first, regardless of grammar tense. This class continues our focus on building this foundation toward fluency, with helpful grammar explanations thrown in in context!

Clase #3: FUTURO

In our third and final class of the 3-Day Online Experience, we use the future tense to talk about what new people and experiences 2019 will bring into our lives, and set our positive intentions for the rest of 2019 in Spanish! We look at how to form the future tense (and how not to form it) from more of a grammar perspective, and then talk about how to use a workaround in the present tense when you’re not as comfortable conversing in the future tense. Come back and re-visit this 3-day class experience again and again, and you will soon be comfortable working in the past, present, and future in Spanish!
